Squat Wedges FAQ:
1. How to use the Hybrid Athlete Squat Wedges?
There’s not much to it - all you need is some space and a stable floor.
Put the wedges on the floor at shoulder-width and try them out by standing on them before you start squatting. Everyone’s proportions are kind of unique, so take a moment to get accustomed to the 20° angle.
2. What are the benefits of angled squats?
Angled squats, or heel-elevated squats, come with all sorts of mobility, strength, and flexibility benefits. The main purpose of heel-elevated squatting is to make up for the lack of mobility in your hips or ankles (or both). Angled squats are also a great way to fix your bad squat form, since it puts more force on the lower quads (VMO), thus working the finer muscles around the knee.
3. What’s the difference between the Slant Board and the Squat Wedges?
Even though both provide a nice platform for heel-elevated squats, there are subtle differences between slant boards and squat wedges. Slant boards (at least ours) come with 3 adjustable angles, which makes them ideal for stretching (on top of exercising).
Squat Wedges, on the other hand (or foot rather), are designed to handle angled heavy barbell squats. While they can’t support different angles, the squat wedges can be set wider apart, which allows you to really adjust them to your needs and body proportions.
4. Are Squat Wedges good for knee pain?
Id used correctly, yes - squat wedges are an excellent way to tackle minor knee issues. But above all, squat wedges are ideal for knee injury prevention. They let you squat deeper without putting additional strain on your ankles and knees by activating the bigger muscle groups of the lower body.
5. When should I expect my Squat Wedges after I order?
If you are located in the Netherlands, you can expect your Squat Wedges to arrive within 1-3 business days. For the rest of the EU, it depends on the location and typically takes 1-14 business days. We work with trusted carriers like PostNL and DPD.
