Table of Contents

1. Chapter 1: Run Far - Endurance

When it comes to running, there’s more to it than just form and session programming. In the Hybrid Athlete eBook, we tackle running from various angles, like:

Atop of all of this, the Hybrid Athlete eBook will also help you with long and short-term preparation for races, as well as what to eat and drink before (and during) running events. Even if you’re not into hybrid athlete training philosophy, you’ll learn the fundamentals AND the intricacies of running.

2. Chapter 2: Lift Heavy - Strength

The next chapter of the Hybrid Athlete eBook is dedicated to resistance training, aka strength gains. Now, while weight training can be most efficient in terms of time invested, the book also talks about calisthenics and how to master it

When it comes to lifting heavy, we’ll be addressing the concept from two different angles – muscle chains and strength program design.

The former teaches you about the leverages the human body has and the anatomy from the perspective of muscle chains. Some of these are familiar to the average gym-goer (e.g. posterior and anterior chains). On the other hand, you will also find valuable info on functional and spiral lines, as well as deep longitudinal chains, lateral chains, and arm lines

The latter is all about training these muscles through loaded movements by programming them into a routine. Here you will find seven different movement patterns that every hybrid athlete needs to cover:

  • Push & Press
  • Pull
  • Lunge
  • Hinge
  • Squat
  • Carry
  • Multiplanar Movement

3. Chapter 3: Bulletproof Your Body - Longevity

If you take a look at the Hybrid Athlete Pyramid, you’ll see that at its foundation lies body bulletproofing, aka longevity.

One of the toughest challenges you will face as a hybrid athlete is keeping injuries at bay. Running and lifting are great for the body and mind, but at the end of the day, they are a source of stress as well. We are not talking about muscle soreness, but injuries that usually revolve around joints, tendons, and ligaments

The longevity approach you’ll find in the Hybrid Athlete eBook overlaps quite a lot with the Knees-Over-Toes methodology. There’s a lot of mobility work that involves pushing your joints to their ROM (range of motion)

If you’re new to the concept, we covered the basics that require no equipment. But, if you want to advance and bulletproof your body all the way, you’ll also find exercises that require equipment. Some of it you can find at the gym or improvise at home, but most of it is waiting for you at our shop:

4. Chapter 4: A Fluid Combination of Weightlifting, Running, and Mobility Exercises

Now, combining running, lifting, and injury-prevention work needs to be planned if you want to be succesful.

In the last chapter of the Hybrid Athlete eBook you will learn the fundamentals of periodization, which is the key to executing all your hybrid athlete plans.

You will learn how to plan your macro, meso, and microcycles, optimizing to get endurance, strength, AND longevity work in. The truth is, being a hybrid athlete isn’t exactly easy, both physically and mentally. You need to think ahead if you want to achieve your athletic goals.
